SAC Expander Mandrel Kit
The SAC Expander Mandrel Kit bridges the gap between our carbide standard and decapping expanding mandrels, by being convertible into both. This will give you the flexibility of choice between a decapping mandrel or a standard mandrel.
Each Mandrel kit will ship with a Thread Protector and 5 different pins that will allow each mandrel to work with all Short Action Customs Modular Sizing Dies, sometimes in conjunction with 1 to 4 .025 shims placed between the e-clip and the topcap.
Decapping pins are replaceable and can be purchased here
Mandrels are made of nitrided 17-4 H1150 Steel. The pins are made of 11-44 stress proofed steel, these items are not finished and will rust over time; they are not warrantied for rust or breakage.
* 30cal and 338cal Mandrels will will need to be assembled and fed into the top cap assembly from the bottom, see photos and video for guidance.*

You will need either the SAC Die Wrench or a small adjustable wrench the engage the flats on the decapping pins to tighten them.

All SAC Expander Mandrel Kits require a 7mm ER 11 Collet. IF YOU DID NOT ORDER YOUR MODULAR SIZING DIE ORIGINALLY WITH A MANDREL, MEANING IT CAME WITH A PRECISION DECAPPING PIN, YOU NEED TO ADD A 7MM COLLET WHEN ADDING A MANDREL.
Pin Fitment – Use the shortest pin that will give you a minimum of approximately .140″ protrusion; if that shortest pin gives you too much protrusion (over approximately .240″), add the appropriate number of .025 shims to reduce it.
Do not add so many shims that you lift the working part of the mandrel into the neck portion of the Neck/Shoulder Bushing; the working part of the mandrel should be no higher than the shoulder portion of the NSB.
